“Firstly I just wanted to say a huge thank you, because over the past few months you have helped and inspired me to make changes to my daily routine that have really improved the way I feel about myself, and my general health and well being.

When I got the email from the New World Club Card saying I could sign up for the ‘Get Summer-Ready’ challenge for free, I thought I’d give it a try for a couple of weeks thinking that I’d be needing to rock out my bikini soon enough so I should try to tone up a bit. I didn’t think I’d be able to find the time or the energy to really get into it, and I certainly didn’t intend on signing up for another challenge afterwards!!

However, right from the first Power Session, I was hooked. I enjoyed it so much and the feeling of having done some purposeful exercise, and the feeling of my muscles being used. It has been over 10 years since I’ve done ‘proper’ exercise.

I’m an active mother of 4, always outside playing with the kids, riding bikes, skating, playing soccer, cricket, swimming etc, but actually spending some time doing exercise in a purposeful way, just for me, feels great! So now I am getting up 30mins earlier each day to do my workout, my kids asked a lot of questions to begin with, about why I was doing it etc. But now it’s a part of their daily routine too, and they either join in, or watch and motivate me (sometimes!). Even my husband has joined in a couple of times!!

The sense of achievement and success when I found I was able to do proper sit-ups again, or 10 full press-ups in a row, or the 2 minute wall sit, was amazing. It’s awesome to be seeing my fitness level improving bit by bit and to be actually be having fun while I’m doing it.

So anyway, I feel like a different person, a fit person, with far more energy and self-motivation than I had before. Now instead of thinking about how I could fit in some exercise time into my day, I can’t imagine going back to not exercising…and of course I’m signed up to the next challenge and am amped to get started!
