Congratulations to our May Member of the Month – Kendyll Matthews!
Kendylls story is heart wrenching but also so incredibly inspiring. Her reasons for making her health and fitness a priority are so admirable and we are so proud of her! Kendyll hopes to inspire others with her journey, and we have no doubt that she will.
Love to you Kendyll, you amazing strong lady!
“Thank you for creating this challenge, but most of all creating a challenge that is realistic, relatable and most importantly empowering.
Three months ago my little girl died during labour (full term)
Darcy was my second child, I have a little boy aged 2.5. As you can imagine our hearts were shattered and our world turned upside down.
After a month or two, I found myself at home on maternity leave but with no baby to care for. I made the conscious decision that I wanted to get fit, healthy and strong and I was going to use this time for that.
If my little girl could not live her life I decided I would live my best life in honour of her.
I attempted to do this myself through basic dieting and walking and did not have much success and felt extremely deflated.
I had seen Kate Ivey Fitness pop up from time to time, and decided to investigate further. I signed up for the trial and the DediKate Challenge. I also chose to follow your meal plan for the first two weeks.
Your challenge has brought my spark back. I’m starting to feel strong mentally and physically for the first time in a very long time.
I am cooking again and it makes me happy, even my husband is eating the meals!
I love the variation in workouts and the time-frame, I can fit them in whilst my toddler is napping or running a muck around the house.
I am running again, something I haven’t done properly in years.
My first run I think I lasted 500 metres before I carked it. Last week I ran 2km without stopping. My goal is to run 6km without stopping 😜
I’ve lost three kilos so far, but for me it’s how I feel, I’m not tired and exhausted anymore and thanks to your challenge I’m getting my groove back.
Kendyll, words cannot describe how lucky we feel to be helping you on your journey. Our thoughts are with you.
